It’s Friday and time to meet up with Lisa-Jo Baker — Tales of a Gypsy Mama, who spreads a feast before us consisting of a challenge:
1. Write for 5 minutes flat – no editing, no over thinking, no backtracking
2. Link back here and invite others to join in.
3. Please visit the person who linked up before you & encourage them in their comments.
READY, SET, GO!
Connecting is how I spent my morning. As a Mothers of Preschoolers (“MOPS”) mentor mom, I worked with a young mom who has stepped up to leadership this year.
Her role is to lead the team of discussion group leaders, who each lead a table of moms. She needs someone to walk alongside her to guide her steps in helping these other young women to make strong connections with their table mates.
Connecting isn’t always easy. Some are new to the group, new to our city, new to the neighborhood, reluctant to make connections, reluctant to invest in new relationships, but still they are hungry for community.
And isn’t community all about connecting? A coming together of sorts. It happens every meeting time. We all arrive from different places to engage in the same conversation or activity or banter. And we all leave to go to different places.
In between meetings, however, we need those connections to hold us strong as a group, as women, wives, moms, and as leaders.
In the end, it’s all about how we connect with one another!
