Refreshment

Then Jesus said,
“Come to me, all of you who are weary and
carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.”
Matthew 28:11 (NLT)

It didn’t take much arm twisting when my husband said, “Honey, let’s take the convertible out for a drive today and stop at Top of the Hill for lunch.”

Beautiful day, newly cleaned convertible, my favorite place to eat lunch!  A formula for success.

The weather in the Pacific NW this spring and summer has left us wondering why we put the insurance back on this little red machine.

And our monthly travel out of town isn’t made in this car either.  So, the chance to get out in it on a sunny, warm day was very inviting.

But should we take the time.  Seems we’re home less and less, and when we’re home, we are together but often in different places.

Bob smiled as I stood thinking this over.  That did it!

Rest.
Refreshment.
Real togetherness.

It was what God intended for us yesterday.

Out in His world enjoying —

His blue skies

God knew we needed diversion from all we’ve laid upon ourselves lately.

God worked through Bob to accomplish this refreshing and restful day.

God brought us home safely, restored and ready to resume serving Him.

  1. Sherrey – there is nothing like taking time to slow down and “enjoy the scenery”. We all need that time of rest and refreshment. I know you have been going through a lot with your brother-in-law and I am thankful you had this special day.

    Blessings,
    Joan
