Simply Sunday: Jeremiah 6:16

The Lord says, “Stand by where the roads cross, and look.
Ask for the old paths, where the good way is, and walk in it.
And you will find rest for your souls.”
Jeremiah 6:16 (NLT)

  1. The old paths, the places where those who have gone before us walked and were successful because they walked with Him. Such a great scripture, and a beautiful photo.

    • I was so pleased when my husband planned these flagstone pathways through our yard. A faint hint back to paths well walked and worn. A symbol of His steps going alongside and before me. Always glad to see you here. Blessings on the coming week!

    • Yes, I like that phrase “ancient paths.” I’ve just started researching my dad’s side of my family tree. I feel like I’m walking ancient paths as I scroll through the U.S. census records for the 1880s. Dad was raised in an orphanage on two occasions, and a lot of the family records were lost. I’m having some success but not like I’ve hoped for. Sigh . . . anyway, thanks for stopping by and thanks for continuing your encouragement.

  2. Such a lovely photo and a positive Word through Jeremiah, a real struggler in his day and age… something many of us might be dealing with. But, like him, we must always turn to Him.

    • Thanks for stopping by! It’s not often we find many positive words in Jeremiah, but these were good ones. Our only needed resource in good and bad times is Him.
