“The LORD gives sight to the blind,
the LORD lifts up those who are bowed down,
the LORD loves the righteous.”
Psalm 146:8 (NIV)
Yesterday we left home early to run errands. That meant that the fog in and around the surrounding hills and mountains was dense and hard to see through.
As we left store after store, at times I couldn’t see too far ahead. It made me think of family members who are struggling with failing sight, and I wondered what their days are like.
Everything loses definition. Light is absent. It’s like walking in a darkened room that you’re not familiar with.
Soon the fog lifted, and we gradually began to see outlines of buildings, cars ahead, and the sun actually beginning its debut for the day.
Before that faith commitment, we are blinded by the world and its trappings, but then we see with such truth and renewal that it’s like a bright light shining everywhere we turn.
Have you come out of the darkness and into the light?
