So Very Small | Five Minute Friday

It’s Friday — time to write with absolute abandon.
Why? Because it’s Five Minute Friday at Lisa-Jo’s and
that’s what hundreds of us do on Friday.

So time to start the ticker and write for
a full five minutes full-out without editing or correcting
on just one word —

Forgotten … I had forgotten how tiny a newborn is. Little hands. Little feet. Almost microscopic nails at the end of her fingers.

As I held her for the first time, I felt as if I was holding a doll from my childhood, but then the doll felt bigger somehow. Could it be that I was once so small? Perhaps, almost so small.

A tiny package holding such promise, so many tomorrows with hope. A tiny package holding innocence. And love without question … you love me, I love you.

How could one so small hold so much? Because God planted all these seeds in her … seeds of hope, promise, love … and we must nurture her like a seed planted for growth. Growth into the kingdom. His Kingdom.

Goodness, how could I have forgotten? Forgotten the uniqueness of each of His children, unique except for the promises, love and hope … uniquely set for each one.

Now to watch small grow inch by inch, month by month, year by year. Until she too is no longer tiny and small, walking tall in God’s family.

Lots of folks come together to do this every Friday.

    • Janis, glad you came by today. It is amazing, isn’t it, that within one tiny human being so much can be created. God is awesome, and little Parker reminded me that first time I held and each time I see her just how amazing God is. Glad to have met, and hope to cross paths more often!

      Blessings to you too!
